Eighteen years later, the team has grown — Chad and the management team run every build, Catherine leads the brand, and we partner with an extensive network of interior designers across the DFW luxury corridor — but the contract has stayed the same: one team, one accountable handshake, from first call to final walkthrough.
N° 02 — Meet Chad

Chad Swanson has been building luxury renovations across Southlake, Keller, and Westlake for eighteen years. He founded Swanson Renovations in 2007 with one simple idea: the builder who protects the design is worth calling twice.
Chad's craft is on the build side — the sequencing, the site protection, the trades relationships, the change-order discipline, the standing-around-the-island conversation where a real-world constructability issue gets solved without value-engineering the design out of the project. When a client already has a designer, Chad partners with them. When a client doesn't, Chad introduces the ones he trusts.
He walks every active site, whether the schedule needs him to or not. He'll be the one you talk to at the first consultation, and he'll be the one you walk through the finished project with on the last day.

The interior designers we build with.
Swanson is a design-build firm — but our design lane is the layout and the space: floor plans, drafting, permit-ready drawings, 3D renderings that show you the change before a wall comes down. The interior — finishes, fixtures, the aesthetic soul of the room — is your designer's domain, and that ceiling isn't capped by what we have in-house. It's whatever your interior designer can imagine.
Over eighteen years we've built alongside dozens of DFW's most talented interior designers — relationships rooted in the exact cities we serve. Some work primarily in Southlake and Vaquero; some are Colleyville and Westlake specialists; some carry Keller, Trophy Club, Flower Mound, and Grapevine; some travel the whole luxury corridor. If you already have a designer, we'll work behind her. If you don't, we'll introduce you to two or three whose portfolios match your taste and your neighborhood — no kickback, no exclusivity, no obligation to hire the first one we bring to the table.
Two lanes, no overlap: we don't touch finish selections, and your designer doesn't have to touch a load-bearing wall. It's the model most of the best homes in Southlake actually get built under. And it's why interior designers refer us back — because we protect their work instead of competing with it.

The site your family still lives in.
The truest measure of a builder isn't the reveal photograph — it's what the site looks like on the sixth Tuesday of construction, when the family is still upstairs. Ram-board floors. Dust barriers. Wrapped finished areas. Nightly cleanup. Photographs, not promises.

When Chad founded Swanson Renovations in 2007, the question that defined every other firm in DFW was "how big a project can we land?"
Chad's question was "how do we make sure the design holds up after the family lives in it?"
It's why he walks every site. It's why our process has six steps and our contracts have one signature. And it's why every Houzz review since 2015 — without exception — says some version of the same thing: "they finished the project we hired them for, and we still love the result years later."
