Southlake Kitchen Renovation — Cast Stone Hood

Design Notes

This Southlake kitchen is anchored by a sculpted cast stone range hood set above a concrete tile surround behind the 48-inch professional-style gas range, with an antique bronze pot filler mounted at its center. The island is finished in black leather-finish granite and doubles as a prep station, with a secondary dishwasher and trash compactor built in; perimeter counters are quartzite with a mitered drop edge. Cabinetry is raised-panel in a traditional style, finished in a light putty color with an ogee-profile toe-kick detail, and glass-front upper cabinets display heirloom china. A furniture-style island anchors the room with bar seating, flanked by clear glass jar pendants, and the adjoining breakfast area is lit by a wine-barrel-stave chandelier over a reclaimed-wood farmhouse table. French doors open the space to the back patio.
